Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Sheahaircare ("Sheahaircare", "we", "us"), our website and app at sheahaircare.com, and the services we provide. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.
The platform is operated by FL4LL (Pty) Ltd (Registration No. 2023/810686/07), which provides the Sheahaircare platform.
1. What Sheahaircare is
Sheahaircare is a marketplace that connects customers with independent hair stylists in South Africa and lets customers discover, book and pay for services. Stylists are independent service providers, not employees or agents of Sheahaircare. We do not perform hair services and we are not a party to the service agreement between a customer and a stylist. Payments are processed by our payment partner, Paystack.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login details secure. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent and involvement of a parent or guardian, to use the platform.
3. Bookings and payments
- A booking is requested through the platform and is confirmed by the stylist (or automatically, where the stylist has enabled this).
- Bookings may require a deposit to secure the appointment.
- Payments are split at the time of the transaction through Paystack, and a stylist's share is settled directly to that stylist's own Paystack subaccount. Sheahaircare does not hold or custody stylist funds, and there are no wallets or stored balances on the platform.
- Prices, deposits and any surcharges are shown before you confirm a booking.
4. Stylist obligations
Stylists must comply with our Stylist Code of Conduct and Healthy Hair Practices, provide services with reasonable skill and care, hold any qualifications or registrations required by law for the services they offer, honour confirmed bookings, and represent themselves and their work honestly.
5. Customer obligations
Customers must provide accurate booking information, attend or cancel appointments in line with the Refund and Dispute Policy, treat stylists with respect, and submit reviews honestly and only for services they actually received.
6. Reviews
Reviews must be genuine and based on a real, completed booking. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, defamatory, or that break the law, and we may take action against accounts that manipulate reviews.
7. Verification and trust signals
We operate a stylist trust programme. Badges or labels such as "verified" indicate that a stylist has met the relevant criteria of that programme at a point in time (for example, customer reviews from completed bookings, bank-account confirmation, or ID validation). They are trust signals to help you choose — they are not a guarantee, warranty or endorsement of any stylist, and they do not replace your own judgement.
8. Prohibited conduct
You may not use the platform to break the law, harass or harm others, impersonate anyone, post false or misleading content, circumvent fees or payments, scrape or disrupt the service, or infringe anyone's rights.
9. Subscriptions and fees
Stylists may subscribe to paid plans (for example Pro or Max) for additional features. Subscription terms, pricing and renewals are shown at the point of purchase and are billed through Paystack.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Because services are provided by independent stylists, Sheahaircare does not warrant the quality, safety or outcome of any service booked through the platform. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sheahaircare is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to the fees you paid to Sheahaircare in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Sheahaircare against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the platform.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or the law, or where necessary to protect users or the platform. You may close your account at any time.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
