Acceptable Use & Content Policy
This policy sets out how you may use Sheahaircare, the rules for content you post, and how we handle reports about content that breaks those rules. It forms part of our Terms of Service. "Content" means anything you upload, post or submit — reviews, photos, business and profile information, messages, and similar material.
Part A — Acceptable use
You may use Sheahaircare only for lawful purposes and in line with these rules. You must not:
- break any applicable law, or use the platform to facilitate anything unlawful;
- harass, threaten, defame, abuse, discriminate against, or harm another person;
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your identity, qualifications or affiliation;
- post content that is false, misleading, fraudulent, or designed to deceive — including fake reviews or fabricated availability;
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent fees, payments, deposits or the booking flow, or solicit users to transact off-platform to avoid them;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-extract data, or interfere with, overload, or disrupt the platform or its security;
- upload malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or data;
- infringe anyone's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.
We may remove content, and suspend or close accounts, that breach this policy or the Terms — see the Terms of Service and, for stylists, the Stylist Business Terms.
Part B — Your content and the licence you grant us
You keep ownership of the content you upload. To operate and promote the marketplace, you grant Sheahaircare a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, cache, adapt, publish and display that content — for example, showing a stylist's gallery on their storefront, in search results, and in marketing of the platform — for as long as you keep the content on the platform and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups and records. Images may be hosted and transformed through our image partner (Cloudinary).
When you upload content you confirm that:
- you own it, or have all rights and permissions needed to upload it and to grant the licence above;
- it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights, and is not defamatory or unlawful;
- where it shows another identifiable person, you have their permission to upload and display it.
Reviews must be genuine and based on a real, completed booking, as set out in the Terms.
Part C — Reporting content (notice and takedown)
If you believe content on Sheahaircare infringes your rights or breaks this policy, email support@sheahaircare.com with:
- a description and the location (link) of the content;
- the right you say is being infringed, or the rule you say is being broken;
- your name and contact details;
- a good-faith statement that the use is not authorised by you, the rights holder, or the law.
We review reports and may remove or disable access to the content while we do so. The person who posted it may respond, and we may restore content if the report is withdrawn or not made out. We may suspend or terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
Enforcement
We may act on a breach of this policy by removing content, issuing a warning, or suspending or closing an account, depending on the seriousness of the breach and any risk to other users. Where there is an imminent risk to safety or a clear legal requirement, we may act immediately.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always appears here, with the "Last updated" date shown above.
